15 Rules For Fat Loss

By Jayson Hunter 1. Eat 4-6 small meals day a day instead of the usual 2-3 large meals. Eating frequently will help regulate and boost your metabolism to burn more calories. 2. Consume whole foods that are high in fiber and low in sugar such as lean protein (lean beef, chicken, fish, and whey protein), fruits & vegetables (oranges, apples, strawberries, blueberries, broccoli, peppers, asparagus, carrots, nuts (almonds, cashews, & walnuts), and whole grains. 3. Eat low-glycemic carbohydrates such as vegetables, whole-wheat products and oatmeal instead of refined processed carbohydrates which usually come in a box or a bag. 4. Recommend consuming 25-35 grams of fiber per day. Since the average diet contains only 14 grams we could all use more fiber. Fiber will help satisfy hunger pangs as well as control insulin and blood sugar levels which tend to promote fat storage when they are elevated. 5. Eat some type of lean protein at each meal. Protein helps to satisfy hunger and provide the necessary building blocks to maintain lean body mass while losing body fat. 6. Consume adequate amounts of healthy fat foods such as olive oil, walnuts, almonds, Omega-3 fortified eggs or other Omega-3 products. Healthy fats are great antioxidants as well as help with brain function and many other essentials processes that take place in the body on a daily basis. Essential Fatty acids also help prevent certain diseases. 7. Recommend eating 5-10 servings of fruit and vegetables a day to meet your micronutrient needs. Vegetables also contain a good amount of fiber and help to control appetites and curb hunger. 8. Consume Green Tea or Water instead of calorie filled drinks such as soft drinks. Green Tea has many health benefits and should be drinking 1ml of non-caffeinated fluid for every calorie that you consume. This works out between (8-12) 8oz glasses of Green Tea or Water a day. 9. Balance your fat intake for the day. 1/3 should come from saturated fats, 1/3 from monounsaturated fats, and 1/3 from polyunsaturated fats. 10. If you want to start building habits then you need to follow a plan. Habits are formed by repetitively following a prescribed plan. Therefore map out your meals every day and follow them. If you follow your plan everyday for 2-3 weeks you will form habits that become part of your daily routine and you wont even notice it. How do you think bad habits are formed? By repetitively doing something over and over again. 11. Include what I call Superfoods into your meal plan on a daily basis. These include but not entirely lean meat, salmon, low fat plain yogurt, tomatoes, spinach, mixed berries, whole oats, mixed nuts, olive oil, flax seeds(or flax meal), green tea, and various beans. These are just some of the Superfoods who should be incorporating into your daily meal plans. 12. Keep total fat intake under 30% for the day. This can be accomplished by not adding too many extra fats such as butter, sour cream, mayonnaise, etc. This doesnt mean you have to completely eliminate these items, but do not eat them as a regular food item every day. 13. EXERCISE!! You can lose weight by just following a nutrition plan on its own but very few succeed at it and it takes much longer than when you eat properly as well as exercise. I am not talking about just getting on a treadmill for 30 minutes every other day. Though you can lose weight this way it is not the most efficient use of your time nor maximizing the ability to burn calories. The most effective way to lose fat is by strength training or some type of interval training utilizing strength training and cardiovascular exercises. A properly designed program can burn more overall calories in 20 minutes than 20 minutes on a treadmill. Also, the X factor in all this is that you will burn more calories per minute hours after you finished strength training because of the EPOC effect. Static exercise on a treadmill doesnt produce this X factor. 14. Record what you eat and drink. You will be amazed at what you consume and not even realize you did it until you right it down and reflect back on the day. Keeping a food log is critical to your success because if modifications need to be made you need something to be able to evaluate and analyze. If changes arent happening like you had hoped the answer can usually be found in the food and or exercise journal. 15. Follow the 90% rule. If you can follow your plan 90% of the time then that is enough to have success with weight loss. If you find yourself breaking the rules more than 90% of the time then the chance of being successful with weight loss is not as likely. Your chances of failing increase significantly. Lose the all or nothing attitude and just take one day at a time. Reflect on your day before you go to bed at night and instead of getting down on yourself because you werent perfect just set goals to accomplish next day that would eliminate those errors. Indemnity and Hold Harmless Clauses in Franchise Agreements

Indemnity and Hold Harmless Clauses in Franchise Agreements, while they may not always hold up are at least one way to help with this along with other strategies. In my franchise agreements for my company, I addressed this issue by slightly modified our hold harmless clauses in our franchise agreements. Below is a copy of one of the early renditions of the clauses we used in our franchise agreements; 3.26 Indemnity/Hold Harmless Franchisee agrees to defend at their own cost and to indemnify and hold Franchisor, its affiliates and its predecessor, sister or co-branding companies, their shareholders, directors, officers, members, employees, agents and their spouses, harmless from and against any and all loss, costs, expenses (including attorneys fees), damages and liabilities arising out of your negligence, failure to maintain or repair, breach of contract or other civil wrong, resulting directly or indirectly from or pertaining to the use, condition, equipping, maintenance or operation of your car wash truck/unit, including the preparation and sale of any product or service made or sold out of your mobile car wash unit. Such loss, claims, costs, expenses, damages and liabilities will include, without limitation, those arising from latent or other defects in the trucks, units and equipment, whether or not discoverable by Franchisor, and those arising from the death or injury to any person or arising from damage to your or our property, our agents or employees, or any third person, firm or corporation, whether or not such losses, claims, costs, expenses, damages or liabilities were actually or allegedly caused wholly or in part through our active or passive negligence or any of our agents or employees or resulted from any strict liability imposed on Franchisor or any of our employees. When you take that first step to make an appointment with a practitioner you have already taken a risk in your mind. Varying from what is conventional can sometimes be very hard for people. Choosing the right practitioner also has a large part in the process. The experience of your first visit is what will make you want to go back or change your mind about alternative treatments altogether. The entire environment surrounding alternative treatments is different from the more well known doctor’s office experience. You will find yourself in a calm and relaxing environment. The experience is enjoyable, stress relieving and something that you would want to do again. In a doctor’s office session, you find that the focus is only on your pain or illness. Your physical condition is the only concern of your doctor and nothing else. You sit in a quiet room as the doctor or physician writes down their opinions and thoughts regarding your condition. In most cases, you feel a little anxious and nervous. It is an environment that creates stress and tension. This is not a good environment for someone who is already ill in whatever way. If you get up the courage to attempt a session with any type of alternative treatment, then you are in for a completely different type of session. You will find yourself pleasantly relaxed and little excited for your new experience. Practitioners try to make your first experience and every other experience after that the most enjoyable and relaxing as they possibly can. When you are in the session, you must decide right away what you think about your practitioner’s personality. Most of the time you will love them! These type of people are very relaxed and free. You will notice right away the difference. The practitioner will talk to you about your life, find out more about your personality and learn about you. There is no specific focus on just one area, the focus is on you as a whole. This is the biggest difference between the two types of sessions. Technique. Deciding which session is best for you is a judgment call. The best way to do this is to try both! By going to your doctor’s office and take in everything that goes on around you. Take note of everything you experience while you are there. Then you should take that first big step and try an alternative treatment. Stay awake during this session and once again note everything that goes on around you and inside of you while you are there. For both sessions, what goes on inside of you is the most important thing. This means, the feelings you are feeling while you are there. If you are feeling completely relaxed, frustrated, stressed or at ease. The feelings you feel inside and do not let out could be the root of your problem if they are negative. Take the risk! Try both and you will instantly see which session is better for you. Colorful Spring Gardens

By Tim Birch In the spring, while trees and shrubs are still showing their pale green new growth, the early border generally consists of colorful bulbs and a few early blooming perennials against a backdrop of green foliage and brown earth. Spring bulbs are perhaps the most important flower in the early spring garden. Spring bulbs, a welcome sight after a long winter, offer the earliest blooms of all garden flowers. Some bulbs will last until the early perennials begin to bloom in May and June. There are also some early blooming shrubs which can provide the garden with colorful flowers. Forsythia and witch-hazel, for example, bloom long before many perennials even begin to emerge from the soil. In fact, in the middle of spring and early summer there are more shrubs and trees in bloom than at any other time of year. Most early blooming perennials are quite suitable for the shade garden. They’re able to take advantage of the sun while it still reaches the ground beneath deciduous trees which have yet to form their leaves. Woodland gardens are often the most colorful landscapes in the spring since many native, shade tolerant flowers bloom early in the season. A great early blooming perennial for the garden is iris which ranges in color from white to purple and in size from a few inches to 4 feet. Bleeding heart is a short lived yet stunning pink blooming perennial which is at home in both the shade garden the woodland garden. Columbine, an easy to grow perennial, blooms in a variety of colors. Some of the showiest early season flowers include poppy and peony and lupine. Though there are many early blooming garden plants, green is still the dominant color in the spring landscape so choose a few plants with interesting foliage. Hosta grows in many shades of green including blue-green and gold-green. Hosta forms the perfect backdrop for spring flowers. Evergreens provide the garden with beautiful shades of green year-round. Variegated foliage, like that of the emerald and gold euonymus, brightens up the garden with a mix of light and dark colors. Spring bulbs, such as tulips, daffodils, blue bells and crocuses, are planted in the fall and blooms as early as March. Bulbs are a very versatile flower as they’re suitable for the perennial garden, the shrub bed or even for planting in the lawn. They’re most effective when planted in masses so plant quite a few in each area. Early blooming perennials are generally short lived and often quickly lose their lush green foliage (poppies & lupine in particular). Plan your flower garden so that annuals and later season perennials are ready to take over and provide the garden with colorful blooms. Be sure to deadhead the perennials as the flowers fade. Deadheading is the process of snipping spent blooms off a plant. Designing your garden on paper before digging gives you a helpful guide while you plant. Though early flowers are welcoming sure signs of spring, be sure to incorporate all kind of flowers in the garden so there’s continuous bloom from spring to fall.
